Inspiration

My first date was with Grant. I was 16, and I dared him to wear a suit. We had a very awkward experience at the movies, and I drove him home completely creeped out. 

My first boyfriend was Dan. I met him on Tinder in college, and he asked me to be his girlfriend after 3 dates. Having a boyfriend made me feel so adult, but we didn't have much in common other than the fact that we were both eager to be in a relationship.

My first love was Gareth (my now husband.) We had a whirlwind romance as young coworkers, followed by a few years of me playing "hard to get" because I struggled to accept someone could love me just the way I was. 

Life is full of phases of love. They're imperfect, messy, and usually not what we expected, but the more we accept love, the more we learn to love and accept ourselves - just the way we are. 

I designed this necklace to be a reminder of that - to hold close to your heart that letting love in creates growth, and everything in life is an evolution. It's easy to reject feeling the turbulence of life, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. But it's these experiences that make life rich, full, and warm.
