My guess is, as we got older, we started to care about what people think. And people told us what they thought, which, honestly, wasn't very helpful, because they didn't filter their opinions through the lens of what we want. But this doesn't have to weigh us down.
When we let go of expectations, from ourselves and others, life becomes lighter and opportunity reopens for self discovery. And when we feel free to discover ourselves, we evolve into our favorite people.
